Yesterday was just like any other wednesday. Except for the fact that I did not work. I've come accustomed to working on wednesdays too, so when I had a free day off I wondered to myself, what was I going to do?
I could go to the mall and window shop..., check out items I wanted to buy on friday, when my paycheck came in. Or I could head to the nearest coffee shop, sit and have a Macchiato while I read a book or browsed the internet. I could go for a walk around my favorite duck pond or by the river. I could do some house chores that I really didn't want to do. I could even play video games if I wanted to; but none of these were really appealing to me.
When one of my friends called who was having transportation problems (Problems being - they were having their vehicle fixed and was going to be on foot, most of the day), they wondered if I was busy and if I could take them to a couple places; offering to put some gas in my truck too. Of course the only thing I was busy doing, was trying to figure out what to do. I happily obliged and said i'd be there shortly (my gas was a bit low and if they were offering to put gas in, I'd be happy to play taxi for awhile).
Four hours later and only three stops we were now headed back to my place. Where we would grab our baseball gloves and head out to the field behind my house to throw for awhile. It's been a rather warm winter and we've been enjoying the chance to play catch whenever we can.
I could tell right away that my friend just wasn't into it, and they must have known that; because they appoligized. They were too worried about their vehicle and how much it was going to cost them. I told them maybe you need to concentrate on something elses (besides playing catch, I was mostly afraid they're going to hit me with the ball). So I offered to take them to another place to hangout. A local rock climbing spot they like to go to.
Once there, oh you should have seen their face light up. It was like...., christmas morning..., okay maybe not that extreme but you get my point. They were ecstatic! Overjoyed! and down right happy!
My friend was showing me spots they liked to climb on and telling me different competitions they had for rock climbing. I was happy to see them happier and not so worried. I smiled, nodded, smiled more, said it was really cool, looked around and bidded farewell; for an hour and a half at least (the length of time for them to get in a good workout).
I left, walked around the block and bought myself a soda at the store on the corner. I drove down the streets toward my house wondering how someone could be so happy at such a simple thing. And realized I had once had that feeling..., and wanted it back.
There were things that use to make me extremely happy, like writing for one. I always felt good after writing a poem, short story, sonnet..., even a paper.
Even when helping people I felt happy and good. Especially when it came to tutoring. I lite up inside after helping a friend figure a math problem out or helped finish a paper. There was always this point you could see in their eyes where everything just clicked.
Even my writing, I always loved the feeling I after creating something that came from my imagination. whether it was really bad..., or really good. It was my thoughts on paper and that was always my best way of communicating anything.
The point of this story wasn't really about me driving a friend around, or me helping someone out to make them feel better. It was the look on their face that has me writing today. It's a look I haven't seen in ..., a long time. A look I haven't felt about anything in a long time.
Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the daily routines we forget about the things that made us so happy.
I have forgotten those things..., and plan on getting them back.

My 1st Blog
Blogging is a new concept for me, something I thought penniless, uninteresting people with no real world skills would do. When imaging a blogger I imagine a person of silly characteristics and bad personal hygiene, no real friends and no real life. I see people of a cyber network all sitting around typing about what it is they have to say, whether interesting or not and not getting any recognition for it. Yes I know..., these are harsh and askew views.
However recently I heared about interesting and meaningful blogs that had something to say and people were actually reading them. So I thought I too would give it a try.
I am not saying that what I have to write will be interesting all the time; only...., hoping that it will be educational. One can hope to impact the world, a society, a community, neighborhood, or person with their own personal stories or insights of the world. I would just like to express my thoughts on certain subjects and if it educates then great if not, then hopefully I entertained you for a small measley moment.
Sometimes what I write will be a bit romanticize, because I am a bit of a romantic, and an optimistic fool (as some like to say). Sometimes I may write poetry, or short stories, I might just put down a thought, then come back to it later (or better yet just leave it alone). I may even just write down a random though and be quite happy that I did.
Oh, did I mention that my insight will be brought to you by the influence of my native background. (For those of you that dont know what I mean by saying Native, I am referring to my Native American heritage ) Becasuse yes I am a native american, descended from three great and well known tribes and have my own opinions about the world.
Because people see the world differently based on their backrounds and being native I can assure you, we see the world much more differently than people of other ethnicities.
I know what your thinking..., and No I do not think of myself any better than others just because I'm native american. Only I have met people who've never seen an "indian" before and have akward views about what we are or wether we are still alive and how we live.
So I do hope you will enjoy what I have to post in future blogs and I am open to constructive feedback and possible questions or subjects for future posts.
